My top moments from Animal Kingdom // Walt Disney World 2017

To say we stayed at Animal Kingdom Lodge on our 2017 trip, we didn't actually spend that much time in Animal Kingdom itself.... maybe 3 or 4 days? That's Disney planning for ya.... you can make the best plans but things always change, and sometimes you just have to take time out from the parks!

The time we did spend there though was amazing. I don't know what it is about Animal Kingdom but this park certainly seems more crowded and hotter than the others so once again we spent a lot of time seeing the shows, taking the train to Rafiki's Planet Watch (my fav!) or just pottering in the sunshine whilst using up those snack credits!

We were completely blown away by Pandora - The World of Avatar which opened in May 2017. It was one of the things I was most excited about and oh boy, it did not let me down! The details in this land are incredible, it's like another world (I know, I know that's the point, ha!).... the plants, the sounds, the greenery, the food.... it's all just something else.

We indulged in the infamous Night Blossum drinks from Pongu Pongu, had the most amazing quick service meal at Satu'li Canteen, explored the winding paths, browsed the incredible shop and rode the Na'vi River Journey which my husband absolutely fell in love with. It's such a beautiful, relaxing ride. We purposely decided not to ride Flight of Passage though until Miss E is old enough to ride too.... it's an experience that we want to do together so I'm quite happy waiting for that!

We sat through more than a few performances of Festival of the Lion King and Finding Nemo - The Musical.... the latter of which I think has become my favourite show. It's such a fun performance and I just love the songs! In the biiiiig bluuuuee world!

We spent time looking at all the beautiful animals, took a million rides on TriceraTop Spin (kiddo's favourite ride in Animal Kingdom!), watched the Tree of Life come to life, brushed a bunch of goats and caught one of the last performances of Flights of Wonder, the show I'm always convinced I'm going to be beheaded by a giant flying bird in.

Animal Kingdom is one of my favourite parks at Walt Disney World and I'm making sure we spend more time there this spring, for sure!

Let's have some photos, shall we?!

  1. I don't know where to begin!

Pandora looks absolutely insane; Disney sure don't do anything by halves! I can't wait for the next Avatar movie; watched the first one a million times!

Animal Kingdom looks so . . . lush! You'd totally believe you were in the places it says you are. The picture of little one brushing the goat is too much! Your outfits are both excellent, too!
