Ideas For a Mickey Mouse Themed Bedroom

Decorating a room for a child is something that I have longed to do for such a long time and once we have our main bedroom sorted, I really want to get cracking on giving Miss E the bedroom of her dreams too. I don't know about you but when I was young I loved to daydream about how I would decorate my room if I could and my little girl is no different either. She often tells me what colours she'd like or her favourite characters that she'd like to see on her walls!

I have been browsing the Internet for a bit of decorating inspiration and have been playing around with a few ideas for a Mickey Mouse themed bedroom. At the age of four years old, my girl is into literally everything but honestly, I don't think you can go wrong with a bit of Mickey... can you?! He's one of the most beloved cartoon characters ever, he's the actual best!

I wanted to share some of my favourite finds that I have gathered together with you today. I love the fact that a Mickey Mouse bedroom can be as subtle or as over the top as you want it to be.... it's such a fun theme! I'm thinking crisp white painted walls and a bold feature wall with lots of little nods to Mickey in the bedding, storage, curtains, etc!

Let's take a look at some of my favourite items....

Disney and VELUX Dream Blind from Velux Blinds Direct

Firstly, I am absolutely in love with the whole Disney range from this website. We have purchased from them before and their blinds are super easy to install and are amazing quality. This Mickey Mouse design is so ridiculously cute and is just perfect for the bedroom too as the whole range offers total blackout which we all know is essential for children's rooms. Especially now that the longer days are rapidly approaching!

Mickey Handshake Wallpaper

This gorgeous design from Graham & Brown is just asking to be hung to create a bold, fun feature wall. I love it so much and at just £13.00 a roll, it is such a bargain too! The colour scheme of this wallpaper would allow me to accessorise the room with some bold pops of colour too without it looking too over the top!

Hot Water Bottle

We're a family of hot water bottle lovers so there's no way I am going to pass on this super fun Mickey Mouse design from Primark. It's so cute! Primark is my absolute go-to when it comes to bargain Disney buys for the home. They always have something Disney themed in so i'm confident that I'd have no problem accessorising a Mickey Mouse themed room by visiting my local Primark store!

Sketch cushion and Steamboat Willie Soft Toy

Both of these items are from The Disney Store which is always (obviously!) a great place to look for Disney themed bits for the home. I love the monochrome design of the cushion and the pop of red really brings it to life. And of course, no Mickey Mouse themed room would be complete without a Mickey soft toy. This Steamboat Willie is a classic, am I right?!

Toy storage

Finally, we have a lot of grey and monochrome in my selections so I wanted to add a few bits that would bring a bit of colour into the room! No better way to do that than with toy storage, and lots of it! The red felt storage buckets are from John Lewis and are ace for storing soft toys in, I know this because we already have some in grey and they are just perfect for gathering up all those cuddlies. A bargain too at only £18.00 each! The yellow cotton tassel basket is from This Modern Life and would be equally as great for storing everything from soft toys to train track pieces to clothes!

That's it for now!
