Our Halloween Honeymoon in Disneyland Paris

I have been flicking through some of our photographs recently and it occurred to me that even though Disneyland Paris has been such a huge part of my life over the years, I've never actually spoken about it that much on my blog or even dedicated that many blog posts to it. And that is something I most certainly want to change!

Disneyland Paris is the Disney resort that I will always think of as my Disney *home*. It was the first Disney resort I ever visited and I have holidayed there more times than I can even remember. It has a certain magic that not even Florida can replace in my heart, I just love it there so much. With this in mind, it's probably no surprise that when we got married in October 2009, we had no hesitation in choosing Disneyland Paris as the destination for our honeymoon. A Halloween honeymoon. It was magical.

This trip was the one and only time we have stayed at the Disneyland Hotel, the famous blush pink hotel with the most incredible scent situated right over the entrance gates of the park. It was an experience that exceeded all expectations in every single way. It was just wonderful. There's no feeling like stepping out of your hotel and rolling straight into Disneyland. There's no view like the twinkling lights of Main Street from your window either! One of my favourite memories was waking up each morning to the tune of "It's Halloween-Lo-Ween" as the park got ready for a new day. A song that now instantly gives me the warm fuzzies whenever I hear it as it instantly transports me back to our honeymoon!

The weather was suitably autumnal, each day was cool and crisp and we enjoyed the Halloween atmosphere and decorations to the absolute max the entire time we were there. I love Halloween like no other, it's my favourite time of year!
Each night, we'd return to the Disneyland Hotel and our bed would have been turned down with treats left on the pillow. We'd enjoy hot chocolates and plan our Disney adventures for the next day. It was perfection in every way.

I wanted to share a few photographs on the blog today from our magical honeymoon. If only for the sake of nostalgia (we both have changed so much over the past few years!).... And the fact that I am starting to get ever so slightly excited (OK, a lot) about autumn. Not long now!
