Review // SMURFS Slumber Night Light - Baby Smurf

Recently we were kindly given the opportunity to review a Baby Smurf slumber night light by Ansmann* and to be honest, it couldn't have come at a better time! Bedtime has become a bit of a battle recently and Miss E would much rather sing, dance, read stories or do anything than go to bed.
The arrival of this sweet little Smurf has been a very welcome addition to our bedtime routine though and it has worked wonders with getting Miss E relaxed and ready to sleep each night!

I remember the Smurfs fondly from my childhood. I seem to recall they even had an album which I'll admit to once owning (on cassette, haha!) so it's awesome to see they are still popular with children today!
Miss E has never seen or come across them before so I was surprised that she took to the night light so quickly, playing with it before I had even taken it out of the box! She loves his soft blue face, friendly smile and cuddly white outfit. He's so cute!

The night light is suitable from birth and is powered by batteries (3 x AAA - included) which are hidden firmly inside the product and away from little fingers. It's all very easy to use and I love the fact that the battery and light components can be fully removed should you need to wash the Smurf.

The night light is switched on by pressing the large button on the tummy. You press it once for light and again to add a soothing lullaby. The music is nice and gentle, not too loud and as a bonus for parents, it isn't irritating or repetitive! The music lasts around 15 minutes and the light stays on for 30 minutes. It doesn't seem to use much actual power though as we have used it every night since we received it and haven't needed to change the batteries yet!

The light is a soothing blue glow. I love the fact that you don't have to use the music and the light together, you can just use the light if you wish. This is great if you need to make those night time visits to find missing cuddly toys, dummies or even for feeding purposes if your child is younger.

The night light also has a really useful little hanger on the top of the product, perfect for hanging by the car seat if you're travelling or for use in the nursery if you're not using it in bed.

It comes with a 3 year warranty and the peace of mind that this product has been thoroughly tested for child safety. Overall we are super pleased with the night light. This sweet little product adds a touch of nostalgia to Miss E's bedroom and it's really effective in making her relaxed and settled ready to sleep. We love it!

The Baby Smurf slumber night light retails for £22.95 and can currently be found on offer over on Amazon

* We were sent this product to review but all words are my own

  1. Personally, I find the toy / light a bit scary:) - but that means nothing as soon as the little one - adorable!:) - seems to enjoy it. Very much.
If it works, and makes bedtime smooth - I have no further questions:_)

  2. This looks like a handy 'toy' to have for the kids.
