I'm not one for making resolutions but this year I'm looking at the beginning of the new year as a way to make a fresh start. A lot has happened during the past year and my current situation has put me in a position to let me see how thoroughly miserable I was with certain parts of my life before (mostly work, I'll be honest!) and just how precious life is. I'm feeling excited and optimistic, not only for the next year but our future together as a family!

As well as continuing to enjoy life, appreciating the small things and living with intention, here are some of my more tangible goals for 2014. I know some of them are mundane and predictable but I thought if I shared them on here then I'm more likely to work at them, especially if I update frequently on my progress!

Make a decision regarding our living situation, whether to move or improve..... And actually do something about it. I love the area we live but our house needs a LOT of work to make it liveable for us as a family, much more than we anticipated when we moved in. Damp proofing, new kitchen and bathroom, garden repairs, window repairs, new doors; you name it.... We need it! So it's whether we knuckle down and get this work done or move to a more 'finished' house.... This might be tricky though as I'm fussy about postcodes and I'd never live in a 'new' house.

Save money (for the above). Our plan is for me to not return to work so without my wage this is going to be difficult but I know it can be done. Whether it's via selling on eBay or car boot sales or cutting back in areas we spend excessively (meals out, etc!), this is an area we need to keep a close eye on and work at constantly!

Declutter. The less things we have, less I'll have to spend hours tidying and searching for stuff, more time with hubby, Miss E and Elsie, etc, etc!

Be more spontaneous with trips out, visit new places, share my experiences. Last minute breaks are something I've dreamed about but never been able to actually do. Now we can I want to make the most of it!

Spend as much time outside as possible (when the weather is better, of course!).

Finally, lose the baby weight. Predictable I know!

Have you made any resolutions for 2014? Please share yous links if you have blogged about them!

  4. Good Luck with them all, especially the house one, I was a but postcode fussy but actually now we have moved i'm pretty happy! xx

  5. It’s good to hear that you’re making a fresh start this year. And setting up goals is one good way to do this. It’s not easy to keep all of it but with determination, nothing is impossible. I hope you achieve it all, particularly the repairs your house needs. Good luck!
