Summer decided to make a welcome reappearance today so we jumped in the car this morning and headed out for a day at Hulme End on the Staffordshire/Derbyshire border to make the most of the lovely weather!
It was almost lunch time when we arrived so we stopped off at The Tea Junction first for a bit of food. I had a hard time choosing what to have but in the end opted for a coronation chicken sandwich accompanied by yummy Pipers crisps, saving space to choose something from the massive table of desserts afterwards. Everything from cakes, cookies and flapjacks to scones.... you name it, they've got it!
After lunch we had a walk along the Manifold Way, a footpath and cycle way which runs for 8 miles along the old Leek & Manifold Valley Light Railway. To be honest, being very almost 38 weeks pregnant it was more of a long waddle than a walk but at least the intention was there!
Elsie loves being out in the countryside, especially on days like this and after our walk she settled down on the warm grass and had a little snooze.... a great day all round!
