Thornbridge Hall....

On an incredibly hot Sunday a couple of weeks ago we headed out into the Peak District for Thornbridge Hall's annual charity garden party.

Thornbridge Hall is a private stately home in the heart of the Peak District just by Bakewell at Ashford in the Water. It is home to the famous Thornbridge brewery and the house/gardens can be hired out for weddings throughout the year. The venue isn't usually open to the public but they do open up the grounds a few days a year for events such as the National Gardens Scheme 'Open Gardens Day' and the charity garden party.

We spent the afternoon sampling different foods, browsing the craft fair and eating plenty of ice cream (supplied by Matlock Meadows.... my favourite ice cream round here!) as well as pottering round the beautiful gardens! Hubby also stocked up on beer from the brewery as they had a few offers on which made for heavy bag carrying on the way back to the car!
