Pregnancy: 23 Week Update....

Things have been a little quiet over here recently, haven't they?!  Recently I have been enjoying the warmer weather, taking plenty of trips out and planning a few little breaks that we have coming up. The weeks are flying by and I can't believe that I am 23 weeks pregnant already!

At 20 weeks I had the anomaly scan, which was super amazing as hubby and I got to see baby moving around for a good half hour whilst they performed what seemed like millions of different checks. Thankfully all is well and at this scan we found out the sex of the baby.... a little girl! I think I burst with happiness when we found out, even though I totally wouldn't have minded either way!

Since the 20 week scan we have started shopping, trying to buy a few bits every week to not only spread the cost but save my sanity! If we did it all in one go towards the end I think I would get overwhelmed and buy things without thinking, doing it this way is so much better for us. Even more so since we found out about fantastic schemes such as the Mothercare Baby Plan, meaning we can buy items now and get them delivered together nearer towards our due date.

The other day we used the Mothercare Baby Plan to put down the deposit on the pram, something that I am super excited about! We thought long and hard about the many different products out there but always came back to the same one.... the Stokke Xplory. Although being a top end product, I firmly believe that this little beast will last us for years and I just love the fact that it can be customised with different accessories and summer/winter kits. Plus, it is very pretty! We also bought the matching car seat at the same time, the iZi Sleep, which just slots onto the pram. This will be great when we are out and about using the car!

It's all coming together slowly and I have a good idea of what essentials we need and what to prepare for now, but there is still so much to do! During the next few weeks I have a multidude of appointments including a lovely bonus one involving a lot of stabby needles that I am really not looking forwards to (I'm no good with needles!). It keeps me busy, I guess!

  1. Awwww a girl, Congratulations! Keep away from the baby clothes!! I have two girls aged 3 years old and 10 months. The Monsoon sale is a danger zone.
I remember the midwife appointments well... Hearing the baby's heart beat was the best thing ever.
Love the pram, I can't believe how many there are to choose from, then when you have finally decided on one you have to decide on the colour / fabric...etc....
Feeling very broody.... look forward to reading more pregnancy updates. x

  2. I've seen this in the states, very posh looking. We have the Orbit G2 and love it, though separate pieces have to be bought to go onto the stroller frame. A good stroller/pram is such a good investment I think! A girl... congratulations! I think we're due 3 weeks apart (baby boy due Sept 19) and goodness, I hope you don't think I 'mommyjacked' this post! Girls have all the cuter clothes, enjoy shopping for her! xxx

  3. During week by week pregnancy time health, fitness and nutrition are important to the development of your baby.thanks for sharing the information through your post...

  4. My brother and SIL had the Stokke and my SIL swears it's the best buggy ever!
