My Current Favourite Skincare Products....

When it comes to skincare, I am pretty fussy. I don't like to spend a lot of money but I have the most sensitive skin ever. I also don't like products filled with chemicals or ones that have been tested on animals so my choice of products to buy are certainly slim!

The cold weather, central heating and stupid crazy hormones have been causing my poor skin an awful lot of bother recently so I have been relying on a number of products to help get me back to normal. I know skincare is a personal thing and what works for me will be different to what works for someone else but I wanted to share my top five products that I am using at the moment....

1. Neal's Yard Remedies - Frankincense Hydrating Facial Mist - £11.00/45ml
Suitable for all skin types including sensitive skin. The mist is applied by closing your eyes and spritzing over the face and can be used under or over makeup as required to keep skin feeling soft and refreshed. It has a light refreshing blend of fragrant and toning essential oils, anti-oxidant and collagen stimulating herbal extracts, combined with moisture boosting hyaluronic acid. Lovely smell too!

2. Witch - Blemish Stick - £2.89
My most recent addition and one that I didn't think I would need at my age! I use this product in the evening once I have removed my makeup. Great for targeting specific areas, this handy little stick can be applied when a blemish is starting to appear. It really does quite sting when you apply it but I sort of like this in a weird way as you know it is working! The stick helps break down excess oils and fights the bacteria that causes spots.

3. Good Things - Stay Clear Purifying Cleanser - £4.99/150ml
This is a lovely gel cleanser with a gorgeous mango and blueberry scent. It leaves your face feeling fresh and clean without drying it out. It also contains willow-bark extract which has an anti-microbial action on the skin, perfect for those pesky breakouts!
Good Things products are also free from many nasties including SLS, an ingredient commonly found in products that foam (toothpaste, bubble bath, shampoo, soap, cleansers.... as well as industrial cleaners, car wash products, etc!) ..... I am stupidly allergic to SLS too so I always check ingredients before I buy!

4. L'Occitane - Immortelle Brightening Toner - £17.00/200ml
I love L'Occitane products so much and this is an alcohol-free toner that evens the complexion and adds luminosity to the skin. It has a lovely fresh scent too!
The toner is made with Immortelle floral water, Bellis Perennis extract and a Vitamin C derivative. Their new formula is enriched with Garden Nasturtium extract, which increases the skin's natural ability to reflect light.

5. Neal's Yard - Frankincense Hydrating Cream - £24.75/50g
I have used this product for years and it is a firm all time favourite of mine! Suitable for all skin types including sensitive skin, this lovely cream soaks straight in and smells divine.
This product is a light, organic daily moisturising cream enhanced by the rejuvenating properties of frankincense and myrrh to reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, and keep skin feeling beautifully soft and fresh. With nutrient-rich plant oils and herbal extracts to help strengthen and rejuvenate the skin.

  1. Hi my lovely, i love Neals yard too!

My allergies make choosing lotions and potions hard work but right now i am really loving Neutrogena unscented hand cream, it is plain and simple but so good for my poor dry hands x
