Coastal Boats: A Joules Bedding Review....

Joules have long been one of my favourite brands in terms of clothing. They are a quintessentially British company who are best known for designing gorgeous (and fun!) equestrian and country clothing of incredible quality. I own countless wellies, coats and items of clothing that are just perfect for my days off where I spend most of my time in the Peak District or walking the dog.

As one of my biggest loves in life is home design and interiors, imagine my total delight when I learned a few months ago that Joules were bringing out a range of bedding in a fabulous collaboration with Bedeck. So when I got an email a few weeks ago asking if I would like to review the bedding, I (of course!) jumped at the chance.

There are currently a total of six adult and four junior designs to choose from as well as a range of throws, robes, sheets and cushions. I had a tough time picking as each design is so different but all of them seem to match my style!

Here are the adult designs, aren't they all gorgeous?! Which one would you pick?

It took me a while but I finally settled on either the "Coastal Boats" or the "Coastal Birds" designs and it wasn't long until I received this bundle of joy in the post a few days later.....

The "Coastal Boats" design is simple yet understated, I couldn't wait to get it out of the packet and on to my bed to see how it looked!

I am usually drawn to vintage florals or bold retro prints but the gorgeous and simple colour palette of cerulean blue, raspberry and golden yellow against the crisp white really appealed to me.

I was thrilled to see how lovely this duvet cover looked on our bed! I paired it with Cath Kidston pastel pink polka dot pillowcases, a National Trust wool blanket and a seaside themed cushion from Laura Ashley for a true but playful nautical look. The bed now looks so inviting!

The line drawn border of sailing boats, lighthouses and fluffy clouds is what really makes this duvet cover special, it's so dreamy!

The double sized duvet cover retails for £80.00 but I really do think it is worth the money. The attention to detail and the softness of the fabric (100% cotton percale) is just incredible and is a real treat to sleep under at night. I love all of the added extras such as the fabric tags and the pretty fabric ribbon tie closures!

Aren't these ribbons just the cutest thing for a bed? I love that they alternate in colour too....

As cute as the ribbons are though, my favourite aspect of the duvet cover is the fact that it is all fully reversible! The print on the reverse is equally delightful, with bold nautical stripes running the length of the cover. So pretty!

I am one of those people who take great delight in making a bed as nice to sleep in as possible.... from ironing and starching my linen to selecting the correct accessories, it all counts for a good nights sleep in my book!

I am really pleased with the duvet cover so far. The fabric is so snuggly soft, I just know that it will be perfect for the winter as well as having the most perfect design ever for the summer. I am certain that I will be choosing to use this set over and over again throughout the year.

It looks pretty damn nice alongside my seaside themed ornaments too, I own quite a few of those you know! haha!

If you would like to take a look at the full range of bedding and accessories on offer then please do hop over to the Joules website right away. They have branched out so much recently on a host of new items, you really won't be disappointed!

  3. Beautiful bedding and bedroom! I've never ironed bedding in my life. Neither did my Mother though she was certainly house proud as they say. Am I really missing out by not ironing?

    1. hehe, I think it is a personal preference. I only started doing it a few years ago though I wouldn't look back now. I have a thing about starch though, I starch everything! xx

  4. Your bedroom is absolutely gorgeous and the bedding is a dream too, I love how the bedding has a different pattern on the inside than the outside and the ribbon is such a lovely touch. I am such a huge fan of Joules (like you I end up being a bit of a walking advertisement for them on dog walks!) but haven't really looked at their home-y bids, slightly concerned for my bank balance now! xo

  11. Such a coincidence as I was just chatting with another blogging friend about the Joules bedding. She had gone to the press release party in London for the spring collection.

I've been in love with the Sunbird floral collection since I saw it a few weeks ago. That with some Joules wellies would suit me perfectly!

Best to you, Ben and Elsie.
