Hot Cross Bread & Butter Pudding

I made hot cross bread & butter pudding last night after work and was amazed at how simple it was yet so delicious! The recipe uses simple products that I guarantee most of you will have in the house and makes enough to feed around five people.

Here is the recipe if you want to have a go....

6 hot cross buns
25g butter (or Nutella if you like it super naughty!)
250ml milk
1tbsp caster sugar
75g chocolate chips
2 large eggs

Heat the oven to 170c, 150c fan, gas mark 3.

Cut the hot cross buns in half and butter the cut sides. Arrange the bottom halves in a baking dish and sprinkle with half of the chocolate chips. Sandwich the hot cross bun halves together again and arrange so there are not too many gaps! Beat the eggs, milk and sugar together and pour over. Scatter with the remaining chocolate chips and bake for 30-35 mins until the pudding is just set. Serve on its own or with vanilla ice cream!

  7. What a shame, this looks nice but bread and butter pudding I have never been able to stomach as it reminds me of the ghastly slop I got served for school dinners!! I'm am positive that yours is nothing like that but I just haven't been able to go near anything like that since!! I'm sure it's my loss...
