Inspiration board....

I bought this handmade notice board from eBay a while ago and it is the perfect place for displaying little bits of inspiration! The board is covered with Cath Kidston fabric and is firmly padded so you can use pins with it too.... you could make one very easily yourself (using a tutorial such as this one) or just cheat by buying one like I did.

I have boxes of postcards, business cards, found objects, souvenirs and decorations at home and I like to change the board around every few weeks to make the most of what I have. I always try to go for a bit of a theme too; whether it is souvenirs of a place we have visited recently, or to reflect a feeling or the season we are in.

Do you have an inspiration board at home? I would love to see!

  1. Ooh, I love the idea of changing it every so often (: I'm currently wanting to create an inspirational journal to coincide with my 'H is for Happy' blog feature. I think it'll be nice to have something so inspirational all in one book. Love your board.

  2. I would love an inspiration board, I tend to store everything in my scrapbook but sometimes I do wonder if it's hidden away in there.
I really like the little butterfly in the bottom right hand corner x

  6. Hi Rebecca, I have one above my desk and also swap the contents around (although normally seasonally, should do it more often!). I was looking at yours and noticed the fabric is the same as some I used to make huge roman blinds for my sister and I love the Belle & Boo postcards, then I noticed the little bird, glad it made it up there :)

  9. I have a simple cork-board which I put drawings, postcards, cards, little things etc. on but at the moment there's so much on it, it needs to be tidied up like yours is. Love your blog by the way xxx

  10. How pretty this is, I think you may have enticed me into getting one :) I used to have that same unicorn picture on my bedroom wall as a teenager, it's just so pretty.

I think you've stirred something inside my mind this morning, I can't stick things up on my walls because I live in a rented apartment, but I have a bookshelf beside the iMac where I have a load of Holga photos stuck up. It's time to take them down and replace them with images that really inspire me. Thank you for helping me think of that!! When I get a proper desk I think I'll buy one of these Cath Kidston boards and prop it up against the wall beside the computer too :)

Thanks for sharing, you've started a great thought process in my head today lol!

  12. Very pretty! I have a pinboard in my kitchen which did start off with a few photos and pretty things. Now it is completely covered in bills and random pieces of paper. I think the photos are still under there somewhere. You have inspired me to do something about it. You have been that little kick up the butt.

  14. Hi Rebecca
I just wanted to say thank you so much for the parcel you sent! Such a nice surprise on a gloomy Monday morning! I love it all - you really didn't have to! I'm glad you like your robin (though I guess he's hibernating until next Christmas by now!)
Love your inspiration board - very pretty. I am far too disorganised to have one myself, I just have little bits all over the place.
A belated Happy New Year to you and thanks again for all the goodies xxx
